Father's Day, graduation, groom's gifts, birthdays, anniversaries, anytime really. Can you think of anything else? Clinical Studies* have shown that money clips are good for every man gift in your life and even some ladies have announced they've been using them too and loving them. Hallelujah!
See the new batch over on Bonbon Oiseau (along with some new keyfobs too-see 'em?) and from today until Wednesday, June 16th we'll stamp up to three initials on the back in time for Dad's Day free of charge~! Oh and free gift wrapping always my dears. Just mention you saw it on my blog...
(Spread the word and leave a comment here for free shipping too). Do you have a favorite?

When we were up, the first flowers were coming out up North and the night was crisp and dark. We grilled and ate dinner late everynight, sitting outside with Rob's infamous mojitos, shaking off the city and the world a little.
Rob greeted us the first day after just having made three big jars of scotch bonnet hot sauce (see orange jars above) which we used to dip homemade tortilla chips, bbq chicken wings and grilled ramps, amongst other dippables .
about 15 scotch bonnet peppers
4-5 carrots, peeled and coarsely chopped
2 cloves garlic, peeled
1/2 cup cider vinegar
maybe a little sea salt, to taste
Purée all ingredients until no coarse bits remain.
This is a sauce to be used sparingly and deliciously.
To dilute add more cider vinegar.

my father-in-law (in the fish camouflage)
catching the illusive Canadian Beer Fish
jim und päter
Jim is gone for his yearly Man Week, fishing with the patriarchs of his clan, bringing up the brightest and biggest of Canada's fishes from the the clear blue waters using the power of their MINDS. This is last year's proof, which looks quite nice, but no girls are allowed (with a backwards "S"). I'll never know what Lake Mantrap (it's real name) looks like unless we go up for Girl Week. Who's with me? We can do the most girly things imaginable...what do you think?
(In the meantime I'll be at the Brooklyn Flea tomorrow making girls look pretty with new bonbons and some new things in time for Father's Day)

In this life, in this summer, I only planted two strawberry plants. They are in with some very red nasturtium and some lavender. Sounds precious. And now every morning, if the wild animals aren't out, there are usually no more than two ripe ones, one for me and one for Jim. This morning there were four. And in this way, life is very very sweet, every morning. One night I made a little strawberry lavender sauce for our ice cream with a very red nasturtium on top. But I had to buy those strawberries from the farmers market. (I only have two little plants). And that's my strawberry story.
