Vanessa's last day was yesterday. It was, in the grandest sense, one of the most rewarding relationships I've ever had. We were mentors and friends to one another and she was loyal, upbeat, did her very best and made everything go. She was a problem solver, a grand object-maker, a hard worker. I will miss her deeply but she packs her pod and sets off for a new adventure in New Orleans and ultimately I have never been happier for someone. I think these are all signs of love and bonding.
I don't have kids but maybe this is what it feels like.
I woke up ready for What we Need to Do. The list feels light, easy to pack, green like leaves, wet like rain, climbing like vines.
