take time to enjoy it a little.

I left Friday afternoon to take the train out to say hello to my parents. Walking to the train, over the bridge to Long Island City...I was looking at the city skyline and the sun behind it and thinking about how we have to find a new place to live--our time is over in our place of the past five years. It's been weighing on my mind a lot...

and then I saw this....some art someone had left...it made me feel hopeful. maybe it's a good sign...

When I arrived at my parents house, my father was waiting in front of the house, sitting among his beautiful flowers, his big patch of lavender. We cut some and here is the pretty bouquet my mother made for me. It is always nice to see them and go to their house--it makes the world go away a little.
Then on Sunday, back in Brooklyn, back to work...

Here is the Brooklyn Flea yesterday! It was a lot of fun especially because I got to spend it with
Jim and
Ana: Thank you both for all your help (and for feeding me pupusas all day) and to all you sweeties too--like Alexis who took a picture of her new bonbon on her fabulous blog,
Clinton Hill Chill{!} and everyone who came out to visit...I'm going to be back next Sunday as well because of you!

when we came home last night , we found Icky, the funniest cat I know, here, nesting in the bathroom sink. we laughed and laughed...she's our little comic relief...

and then here is Maxine, taking time to smell the flowers.
Here's to enjoying many good times amongst the business of Autumn...
