Saturday Afternoon at the Arboretum, Part I

I've loved visiting Planting Fields Arboretum since I was a little kid. The light was so perfect that afternoon, just before we turned the clocks back. We walked along the paths and through the greenhouse where the orchids and begonias do their growing and I realized how much more attention I've been paying to certain moments of each season this year. I especially appreciated being able to spend time with my parents and Jim and my brother on such a gorgeous fleeting Fall day.
It's not an incredible hidden secret, but that arboretum is an old love of mine and not too far from NYC...

Deb: Love the photos of your parents, Jim and brother at the arboretum. I come from the midwest and have over the years not only enjoyed the arboretum during the summer, spring and fall but I have also enjoyed it especially during the dead of winter. It is magical to go from a completely white environment outside into the lush verdant environment of the arboretum! Now that I live in mild environment - I don't always think about going there. Thanks for the thoughtful reminder!

BBO - The Planting Fields are a must when I am back home on LI! These photos are so lovely - I feel like I was there - and could practically smell the dew in the greenhouses. Thank you for the 'visit'!

And congratulations on your 500th post! Loved reading your first post, and seeing how far things have come in such a short time. Looking forward to many, many more.
