Paris journal (and a little brooklyn)

icky in my j.crew bag. she always feels sad when I leave

the day i left, there was a skywriter over the house and the words spelled
cloud cloud cloud cloud...i took this as a good omen

and then it was the next morning and i am in paris.

i always go for a little walk up st. germaine

past le cluny

up to st. germaine-des-prés, the oldest chruch in paris

across is les deux magots, the cafe where
simone de beavoir and ernest hemingway liked to pass their time. i've never been in, but i love how significant it is.

then i turn around to see if there is a line outside of laduree. there is and it is very very very long.
I wait anyway because i am addicted to one flavored like orange flowers
and i have some time

i eat dinner on rue du buci because i haven't eaten all day. there is a nice older couple from nevada sitting next to me and we strike up a splendid conversation. it is nice to see paris through their eyes, especially since they don't have to work and told me all about a recital at st. sulpice.

then home along the river and past Shakespeare and Co. which always reminds me of my first time in paris

past my favorite window

And home. And today was the set-up at Le Showroom

And tomorrow...starts the show.

i have a VERY found memory of being 21, drunk as a skunk perusing the books at Shakespeare & Co. it's got waaaaaaay more character than the one here (although I haven't the slightest if they are directly related!)

i wish i was there.
