And Strawberries, along with everything else

In this life, in this summer, I only planted two strawberry plants. They are in with some very red nasturtium and some lavender. Sounds precious. And now every morning, if the wild animals aren't out, there are usually no more than two ripe ones, one for me and one for Jim. This morning there were four. And in this way, life is very very sweet, every morning. One night I made a little strawberry lavender sauce for our ice cream with a very red nasturtium on top. But I had to buy those strawberries from the farmers market. (I only have two little plants). And that's my strawberry story.

  5. There's nothing like ripe, fresh strawberries! I love to make strawberry toppings to pour over cheesecake and vanilla ice cream! If you're having trouble with animals, I would recommend growing the plants indoors. Garden in a Bag is one option: http://www.charlestonnaturally.com/store/potting-shed-kid-s-garden-in-a-bag.html.

  6. P: strawberry sauce: clean the strawberries and hull the damn things.
Then put them in a little pot with just about a quarter cup water. simmer. it will bubble and then throw in a little flavoring--i used a quarter orange and maybe a tsp of lvender leaves. (but you can use anything)
let sit there and infuse: if you do this before dinner, heat up a little after dinner and then serve warm on ice cream. (or have it for dinner.)
    love, deb
