Hello tomatoes! We cut into some for dinner last night with a little olive oil, salt and basil...we win we win! It's great to be home!
Soon I can try this beautiful tomato gratin by Cathy of Noble Pig fame! Looks so nice!
Thanks Jen, if you're reading for taking such great care of cats and tomatoes and everything in between.

It's beautiful, or they are bautiful. That is a nice homecoming!
your tomatoes look amazing...i have to say that i am sad i did not grow any of my own.
did i already say: your life makes me envious!? welcome back. the trip photos look gorgeous. and coming home to tomatoes can't be all that bad, eh? (had an excellent dish last night: watermelon salad with mint, feta, and cayenne pepper! seemed right up your alley!)
Thanks for visiting me at Figs! I'll be reading backwards through your site as well!
Dry farmed organic Early Girls came to my produce market a bit ago, and I was just fixing to do a post about them. I eat them every day during the season. I'll have to try this gratin.
Coming home to cats AND tomatoes... sounds like a lil slice of heaven to me :-)
it is great when you have neighbors who love your garden as well as you-the tomatoes look wonderful!
how could you possibly leave those little, deliciously plump orbs at home?
you're lucky they didn't run away to my house, where i would have kept them nice and warm with some garlic and olive oil, and then tucked into some foccaccia.
those poor little neglected dears.
brilliant tomatoes! there is absolutely nothing like the homegrown variety. :o)
ana: are you talking about the cats?
mmmmm
Well since I got a shout out in the blog, I feel compelled to comment ...
1) you should have seen the tomatoes I ate while you were gone. they were *even better*
2) for ana, neither cats nor tomatoes were neglected while deb was gone. both were well loved.
and yes it was a little slice of heaven!
Oh, yum! We're growing tomatoes this year, too, and there's nothing like them.
Oh, that looks delicious!
