Each night before I finally get to bed, (these days it's many miles to go before I sleep...), I've been perusing what's happening at the shows during New York Fashion Week.

I love these photos from the New York Times, showing the palpable effort just behind the scenes right before a show: all the labor, the people, the nerves, the excitement of fashion week...all the crazy things it takes to produce and introduce a new line into the world. The show, the work, the baby.
...time to go to work.

I remember my dad not liking fashion week so much. It used to fluster him because he was a behind the scenes kind of guy and all the glamour was a bit much for him. It still makes me laugh just thinking about it. It amazes me that after all the fanfare it was a bunch of italian and jewish men in the factories producing those fashions, arguing about linings, seams, buttons and such.
