london eats

In the midst of worldwide financial panic we (who were in London for a few days) turned to food.First for a post-Eurostar lunch to Leon for a quick and healthily delicious (or is that deliciously healthy?) lunch before visiting the Tate Modern...I had the chicken tagine with swede and pumpkin from their ever-changing seasonal menu...

Then here for dinner, to St. John for the best roasted marrow bones with parsley salad this girl could ask for in a rather clinical atmosphere though. We all agreed we'd go back, if just for the marrow bones...

Also here (above), for a lunch at Moro, first introduced to me via the gift of an excellent Moro cookbook by a very lovely tea blogger. We ordered tapas before power window-shopping and shop visits with my friend Ann, (piquillo peppers with egg and anchovies, and other assorted goodies...)

And on my last night to my favorite new gastro-wine bar in the whole wide world, biased or no, Vinoteca for an incredible meal of shared appetizers (wild mushrooms on toast, 5 spice rabbit and pork rillettes, sweet & sour aubergine, to an (unshared entree) perfectly roasted pork chop with jerusalem artichokes, purple broccoli with apple chutney...

I was gearing up to get some yogurt and granola, and sadly, that is just not going to cut it!
