Sailor's Delight.
I think some lovely chickadees have already posted what they've captured of the sky last Friday night here in good old nyc:
rachel,
marie,
elizabeth...here are the bonbon additions, fashionably late to the red sky party.
I think someone even knows what those clouds are
called... grapey clusteroos (that's the scientific name)...a very inspiring sky for shnizzle.

wasn't it amazing? even CNN did a segment on it. I have a lot of photos myself...at some point I will get to loading them! haha..

ps--sorry I never got back to you the other day...it was one of those if you know what I mean. I will email you soon. going away this weekend. xx
Mammatus!
I had never heard the word until two commenters left it on my post. And an even weirder name, in Afrikaans, is apparently muistiete (pr. "maysteatuh"), which translated literally, including crudeness = mousetits.
Don't ask me.
That's one heck of a mouse.
You may be late to the party, but you know how to make an entrance
:-)
bon bon delicious!
how sweet was the sky you viewed!!! wish I was able to see such a beautiful sky!

Oh so pretty....my husband loves to quote "red sky at night...." But I don't think I've ever seen one that red... :)
unbelievable! I saw it but like an idiot, I didn't take pics. Thankfully I know smart people like you.
That's so funny...I have a couple of "Red Sky Over Wegmans" pics I took on the same night. They are, however, still trapped in my camera.
