Monday Does of I: Pure Joy
In between packing up the studio into designated boxes, going and choosing paint colors and planning possible configurations for our new studio, after filling orders from the kitchen table last week, (rummaging through said designated boxes to find what we needed), after setting up the Brooklyn Flea on Saturday and leaving it in Vanessa's hands, after visiting the flea to find things for the new studio (to no avail), after feeding the cats and figuring out what we need to bring on our trip (leaving Saturday), we took the railroad to Long Island.
We had a supper picnic at the beach with my brother and sister-in-law and Sophie. I love the late afternoon at the beach. It was our first visit there this summer. Sophie didn't stop playing in the water for almost two hours--she came out when her lips were blue. Watching her completely filled with joy was the most relaxing and inspiring thing I've experienced in a long while. Pure joy.
