Monday Dose of Inspiration: The India Blues

A blue Monday. I saw a picture in a magazine that had a blue object like the blue of India, where there is every shade and found everywhere, every. single. day. It's infinite. I may need to paint something some shade of blue, in any of it's incarnations: indigo, teal, deep aqua...to remind me of India and how the blue there always inspires and cools after the bright heat of everything else that happens along the way.

Spring Happens or A Little Color Never Hurt Anyone

room i want to live in

couch i need

paris restaurant specializing in the more colorful parts of animals

bonbons coming soon

Spring is so wonderfully weird. One gray day you wake up and it starts to happen. Then each day little signs of color and green wiggle their way out of the ground, out of pods, out of the cracks in the sidewalk and that's it..it's Spring. I am ready for some very bright outburts...of color that is...

Hey tonight I teach my earrings workshop at make! will I see you there?

Some Color Inspiration for Bonbon

prettiness from noa noa

pale flower pinkishness from the gorgeous la rouge porte

detail of (and excellent post about) Babel from Tasting Rhubarb

my dried cardamom pods

lace finds from fine little day

Beautiful handmade vanilla marshmallows
from the wonderful foodbeam

Am in the process of getting ready to design my Spring/Summer 2009 Collections. I'm honing in on the "mise en scene" and I've almost got that down (tell you about that soon-think industrial revolution, handmade chains in pewtered silver and rich gold, lace and linen flowers) but right now I'm thinking in colors. Pale colors, almost shades of white with touches of vibrancy, the colors of early Summer, the colors that you dream about in Winter and Spring:

pale whites: marshmallow, old lace and linen, peony blush

green: pale cucumber & cardomom green

orange: apricot & cantaloupe

pinks: rhubarb & watermelon & plum, peonies and rose petals

yellow: citrus, squash & tea yellow

I can't wait to see what happens.
