News from the First Flea of the Season

Over 9000 people came to the first Brooklyn Flea in Fort Greene last Saturday and we're getting ready to do it all over again this coming Saturday with more of the Cherry Blossom Collection and more of all kinds of other things to boot!

Next Saturday we'll also bring our newest project, the Limited Edition Petit Buddha Necklace, above. It is $100, and 20% of the sales will go to support the Food Bank of New York City. On a long 25" sterling silver chain is a little vintage brass Buddha charm and a little round of antique foil-inlay milk-glass with vintage sequins and tourmaline...each is delicate and unique and we sold the first one last Saturday! It will be up on my site soon--if you are interested in this piece before it goes up on the site please write to me at: deb at bonbonoiseau dot com!

Here's more flea shots from my pal, Lazy and how cute she looks with her new cherry blossom and tattoo...oh and please visit my lovely neighbor's blog, Asya from Gleena ceramics---I'm sad I won't see her next Saturday too but I did get two little number bowls to remember her by--I love them...

Monday Dose of I: Aya Brackett & Earth Week

(all of the above by Aya Brackett)

I've been sitting in front of Aya Brackett's photography for an hour. There is such a quiet earthy calm that washes over me when I look at her work, a sense that there's no need for drama, that life is beautiful and it's as right there in front of us as we make it. Here's to a good start to this (down-to) earth week.

Cheery Blossom Time!

Tomorrow and next Saturday are the big days--the re-opening of the Brooklyn Flea in Fort Greene and our Cherry Blossom Collection will be there to help celebrate. WOOOOHOOO!
Some little peeks:

I'm so unnaturally excited about tomorrow that I changed all my links to pink and pea green..what the?...the Brooklyn Botanic Garden asked me and four other Brooklyn businesses to create a "Sakura Set" inspired by the gardens Cherry Blossom Time and available exclusively at the Brooklyn Flea's Fort Greene Re-opening weekends! So that means this Saturday and next you'll find cherry blossom cupcakes from Kumquat Bakery, special edition kimonos from Kimono Lily, cherry blossom notecards from Foxy & Winston Stationary, and super-adorable handmade squirrel dolls by Osborne Designs. Oh and some limited edition cherry-blossom inspired hair ornaments and jewelry by yours truly. (See our cute pink letterpress hangtags? Kudos and gargantuan thanks to my pal Breck from Sesame Letterpress for whipping them up for us in the midst of her wedding season!)

Pictures Monday my faraway friends...but for my near and dear ones, I hope you'll try to come to one of the Saturdays! It should be a stellar couple of days! Click here to get to the Brooklyn Flea...

***Oh! And a sweet (and talented) workshop participant wrote a little piece on her blog

about my class last night...there's even pictures! It made me blush...go and see!***

Spring is so wonderfully weird. One gray day you wake up and it starts to happen. Then each day little signs of color and green wiggle their way out of the ground, out of pods, out of the cracks in the sidewalk and that's it..it's Spring. I am ready for some very bright outburts...of color that is...

Hey tonight I teach my earrings workshop at make! will I see you there?

Anywhere but Here

I know about the May flowers thing, but it's another gray wet New York Spring day, many hours to go before I sleep, (Brooklyn Flea Cherry Blossom launch Saturday-fingers crossed for sun!), all of my orders coming due next week and I just want to go back here and sit under the twisty shade of a date palm with my honey thinking about nothing but what to have for lunch...

From our visit to the Majorelle Garden in Marrakech. Read more about it here.
