Spring into Summer and the leaves are popping. I love this time of year before everything gets unruly, while everything is still young and manageable. It's a very hopeful time for sure in the garden and we just added a few coleus plants, the deep red and purply plants of my youth.
Coleus are my "plant nostalgique".

i love coleus, even though i was a late bloomer and didn't discover it until a few years ago. it's such a deeply colorful and responsive plant...one of my favorites, now, too.
Iplanted three rows of coleus in my backyard and it is doing so well in the shade... I am loving the coleus, this is the first year I planted it.... We also found two blossoms on our pumpkin vines this morning and that means at least 2 pumpkins on the way.....

After the rain last night, today it looks like everything's grown a few inches higher and bushier, especially the mint and tomatoes.
you're so lucky to have a garden!
