Iowa is a Sioux Word

Someone once told me that Iowa is from the Sioux language and means "one who puts to sleep". I don't know if that's true but this is the last of my Iowa show and tell pictures. Jim and I got in the car a few times and drove a few miles out of town. I love the vastness of Iowa and the blue, green and brown of summer there.
One day we went to the Fort Dodge Historical Museum (below) in Fort Dodge. It was kind of like a living museum, although we had just missed the guy dressed as sheriff. We waved to him from the car though.
